Klarsikt Studios

Why Klarsikt

Every now and then I download a game I want to spend some time with, something that stimulates my brain, and it's always the same thing. I start the game, I play a few levels, then I start getting ads between every single level I play. There's some built-in difficulty to the game that makes it extremely hard to pass without paying for power-ups and things like that.

This time I got frustrated, and my head jumped into the idea: why can't I create an alternative to this? I can create a bunch of simple games, games with easy mechanics, and release them on the Play Store and similar platforms. Instead of the typical way of using ads and pay-to-win, I will have a generous free tier. That free tier should get the user a bunch of levels, and after the free tier you pay the price of a coffee to continue with the full game. The full game should be much bigger than the free tier, to allow for many hours of relaxing gameplay.

I also want to create games that aren't built around cheap dopamine hits. Of course you should feel good while passing a level, but I want the game as such to be more relaxed, not craving your attention and pushing you for additional levels. Especially my games created for children are created with this in mind, and I try to build natural breaks into the games as such.

This is something that I feel is missing today. A lot of games really capitalize on this — ads, pay-to-win — and I feel they are dishonest in their way. It's supposed to be a game for me, but it's so clear that it's not created for the player. I want games that are created for the player instead of for the creator.

This is why I created Klarsikt Studios.
